Bye, Bye Blackbird...

Hello Readers,

It has been a while again hasn't it?

The last we spoke, I was off to the islands for some much needed R&R - which by the way, was great. I even snagged a tan too. Soon, the holiday came and was met with much enthusiasm on my end. I love this time of year. People seem a bit brighter and a little nicer. I wish that we could keep that spirit all year long.

After the holiday, I attended a family wedding (such a great time) and have been prepping for some major changes to be expected within the coming year.

Yes, indeed bye-bye blackbird - the 2009 and welcome to 2010.

This year has been a challenge for most of us - seeing job loss, personal loss, babies, weddings, divorces, break-ups, new relationships, new jobs and so much more. It is hard to not get overwhelmed by it all really.

Today, I had someone ask me what my NYE resolution would be. My answer was rather simple: Live as joyously as possible and keep a positive mindset - and see my goals through. Pretty broad, I know. But I sat down and made a list of goals to be met within the year. One of them included blogging more. Go figure.

This year, I plan to turn a new page in my career and if it keeps me grounded in STL, so be it, but if it takes me someplace else or at least traveling quite a bit, so be that too. I am as open to new opportunities as possible and will follow where the breeze may decide to take me. It has been fun being a freelancer, but I am hungry for more.

Along with my career, I have been looking at improving other areas of my life - including taking up a ballroom dancing class and even a ballet class for adults. I'll be searching for willing and able partners to join in the fun, well, at least the ballroom dance class...

I have also thought about putting together a girls only (but I may cave and allow a guy or two) roadtrip to the Gulf Shores or just a nice extended weekend to wine country at a quaint bed and breakfast would be good too. Female bonding is a good thing and it is time we treasure those in our lives that much more. This past year when my sister n' law lost her Dad, it really hit home. Here was a healthy man, in his prime called home way too soon. It reminds us that we can all go at any time. Better get to living folks...

So much will be unfolding in the New Year, and I am looking forward to it. I hope you are looking forward to all the great things that a fresh start can bring.

Here's to 2010!

Love,

Anne
